The West Rusk County Consolidated ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously July 21 to hire Jackson Construction to lead the district's elementary building project, a bond-funded capital effort. Superintendent Lawrence Coleman told trustees the district received nine bids, interviewed the top three firms (Jackson, HGR and Transit) and used a rubric to rank finalists.
Coleman told the board the district will follow the 2021 International Building Code for the project. Robert Anderson moved to "hire Jackson Construction for the Elementary Building Project/Bond Project," Chris Pratt seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. The board did not provide construction contract dollar amounts in the public transcript.
