An elementary school staff member delivered the October elementary report, saying classrooms have settled into routines, students are doing early-grade math and publishing first writing pieces, and field trips to local pumpkin patches and the library are underway. The presenter also announced the PTSA trunk-or-treat event scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Students addressed the board in a short presentation thanking trustees for their service in advance of Board of Education recognition week. One student who spoke identified herself as Kyla. During the presentation a student summarized the board's role: "The board of education is a group of representatives who help manage the school and make most of the rules." Administrators and trustees thanked students and staff for their preparations and genuine responses.
