District lists several K‑12 programs slated for cut or redesign in FY26

During the budget preview, district staff identified a set of programs that will not be funded in FY26 and others that will be redesigned. The presentation named specific items listed as discontinued: Grow Your Own Teacher and Counselor Program; Gang Prevention; High Poverty School Stipends; and School Fee Amendments. It also listed programs slated for redesign, including the Beverly Taylor Sorenson Elementary Arts Program and the Class Size Reduction Program.
Todd Hauber and Ben Horsley said the loss or redesign of those programs could change supports available at school sites and underscored the importance of tracking bill progress. They encouraged SCCs and community members to use the district's tracker and to reach out to legislators about funding priorities; staff said the tracker will appear on the district communications page.
