Board adjusts Walker Elementary boundary, maps family shelter into Wilson Elementary

The board approved two related boundary motions concerning Walker Elementary on Dec. 10. The first moved parts of Walker attendance to Wilson and Lincoln elementaries; the second specifically located the family shelter at the corner of 3300 S. & I‑15 within Wilson Elementary’s boundary, with the adjustment effective January 2025.
Julie Jackson moved the initial boundary adjustment and Connie Burgess seconded. For the family-shelter-specific adjustment, Connie Burgess moved and Julie Jackson seconded; President McDermott called the vote and the motions were recorded as passed by the board.
District staff will implement the changes and publish revised attendance maps and notification materials for families prior to the January effective date.
