Sheriff Cabbage delivered a broad update to the Board of Supervisors, saying the Page County Sheriff’s Office answered 13,782 calls for service last year and made 338 arrests while conducting 32 criminal investigations.
"Right now I feel like the Page County Sheriff's Office is the best that it's ever been. Morale is up," the sheriff said, outlining priorities for FY27 that include adopting an employee pay scale, new performance metrics, recruitment and retention work, specialized training and replacement of aging patrol vehicles.
Command staff reviewed recent equipment upgrades and interagency partnerships. The office has rolled out body-worn camera implementation for full-time deputies and ordered 10 cameras for part-time staff, and described several drone deployments that aided investigations. The sheriff also listed federal partnerships — including participation in regional drug task forces and liaison activity with U.S. Marshals and other federal agencies — and said those relationships can provide assistance on large-scale incidents.
The presentation included statistics and program details the board may weigh during budgeting: vehicle purchases funded from CIP money, an expected $25,000 equipment grant with local match already spent, and a planned October rollout of a digital time-sheet and policy-signoff system. The sheriff thanked the board for ongoing communication and urged continued support to implement the agency’s FY27 priorities.
