Staff said the $5,000 retainer covers environmental-study expenses and that the city plans to request $5,500,000 in CDBG funds for the project; staff added the well and related project components exceed $1,000,000. The application deadline was stated as Sept. 1 and staff said NIACOG has a strong track record preparing successful applications.
Council moved to approve retaining NIACOG, and members asked staff to report back with award timelines and next steps if the application is submitted.
