Commission approves multiple rezoning requests, places conditions on Miller’s Landing parcels

At its Aug. 3 meeting, the Loudon County Commission approved multiple rezoning requests presented by planning staff and voted to approve Parcel 4 at Miller’s Landing with detailed conditions.
Planning staff described rezones across several tax-map parcels, including a rezone of a commercial district to suburban residential and rural-residential requests. On motions from commissioners, the commission approved items including 7270 Highway 411, 6600 Brook Road and 2480 Foshee Road.
For the Miller’s Landing parcels (Parcel 4 and subparts), the commission approved development with explicit conditions: no access to certain parcels from Parcel 4A; splits limited to no more than two lots for 4B and 4C; installation of a cul-de-sac meeting county standards; public utilities to all five lots; architectural-review-board approval of architectural standards; and an easement or access to the cul-de-sac from Parcel 028027.00.
Commissioners discussed resident concerns before the vote and noted the planning commission’s recommendations. The motions to approve the rezoning items were seconded and carried by voice/roll call.
