Jed Bassett sworn in as Loudon County general sessions judge

After the vote, Bassett was sworn in and repeated the oath: "I, William Jed Bassett, do solemnly swear" to support the U.S. and Tennessee constitutions and to impartially discharge the duties of general sessions and juvenile court judge for Division 1.
Commissioners and local officials welcomed Bassett after the ceremony. The meeting took a short, five-minute recess following the swearing-in.
The appointment filled a county vacancy for a general sessions judge. The commission did not set a schedule for any additional judicial assignments at the meeting.
