The board acknowledged a change in insurance coverage for district facilities and received updates on community use and staffing.
The board formally acknowledged that the old school bus garage is not insured; members discussed that the new bus garage has increased coverage and noted the old building’s future will be discussed at a later date. A motion to acknowledge the change in insurance status was approved 7-0.
The community weight room report indicated 27 members currently use FOB access and community education staff assist with cleaning. Board Member Doug Verdegan noted some cleaning supplies are locked and unavailable; Interim Administrator Sheri Kopka said she will look into access and supplies.
Separately, the board reviewed the maintenance budget and hiring plans: 16 applicants applied for the building and grounds role and seven candidates were selected for interviews. Trustees said, after filling that position, the district will consider a nighttime custodial role.
