Board accepts retirement of special education teacher and approves three hires

The Cameron Board of Education accepted the retirement of Teresa Daniel, an elementary special education teacher, on Feb. 24. The motion to approve the retirement was made by Scott Keeler and seconded by Gene Phillips; the minutes state the motion carried.
The board also approved recommendations for employment: Sasha Anderson as Night Custodian, Paityn Tiefs as Middle School Track Coach, and Justin Duerkop as Assistant Softball Coach. Gene Phillips moved to approve the hires, seconded by Bethany Stevens; the motion carried. The minutes note the board entered closed session earlier in the meeting to discuss personnel and contract matters and reconvened to open session at 8:39 p.m.
