UN reports sharp escalation in southern Lebanon; UNIFIL logs record projectiles and airspace violations

The United Nations said its interim force in Lebanon, UNIFIL, observed the sharpest escalation in military activity since a trilateral framework was announced in late June. "Yesterday, peacekeepers recorded a 113 projectiles fired by the Israel Defense Forces," Farhan said, and between midnight and 1600 hours today the mission recorded 120 projectiles — the highest single‑day figure since June 21.
Farhan also reported a surge in air activity, including 49 airspace violations with a cumulative overflight time exceeding 131 hours and at least three confirmed air strikes in the vicinity of Al Mansouri. He said UNIFIL did not directly observe a reported explosion that media attributed to the deaths of two IDF soldiers but noted subsequent IDF evacuations and displacement orders in the area.
