Highway Supervisor Dan Garlington updated the board July 6 on fleet status, saying one new truck is already in service and another is "not too far behind." He described the delivered unit as a turnkey truck with aluminum wheels and noted the plow wing will need removal to match other fleet configurations.
Garlington said the town offered surplus trucks for sale and received two bidders; each successful bidder purchased a vehicle, producing a slightly higher return than expected. Selectman Jonathan Gifford discussed the private-sale yield and the process used to maximize value.
