The D.C. Everest Area School District board on March 19 moved and approved on first reading a set of policies covering curriculum development, ethics/conflict of interest, religion in the curriculum, Start College Now programs, summer learning, advanced learning instruction, substitute employment, staff notices and reductions, student discipline items, budget implementation, maintenance and safety, wellness and student meal programs. The motion specifically excluded po2210 from approval on first reading and directed that a paragraph in po8510 be struck.
The motion was made by President Lindsey Lewitzke and seconded by Katie Felch and passed by voice vote. The minutes list each policy by code (for example po1130, po2210, po2440, po5512, po5610, po8510, po8531, po8600) and indicate that po2210 was not approved at first reading. The board did not include the full policy texts in the public minutes; those are referenced as background materials.
