The board moved into executive session to discuss personnel matters and legal consultation, citing Texas Government Code §551.071. After returning to open session, Superintendent Dr. Richard Rivera recommended several personnel actions that the board approved by motion, including contract renewals for district administrators and a recommendation for the principal position at Kler Hill (Lehi/variant) Health Elementary.
Dr. Rivera presented the committee’s recommendation for the principal appointment, naming "Myron Amorian Zamora" as the recommended candidate for Kler Hill Elementary principal; trustees moved, seconded and approved the recommendation by voice vote. The board also approved a list of resignations and retirements and a proposal to renew letters of assurance for paraprofessionals and auxiliary personnel for 2026‑27.
One trustee raised concerns about accountability and a significant prior loss the district experienced, asking for more time and additional reporting before approving certain contract conversions; the trustee said he would vote no on that specific item and pressed for equal application of accountability policies. Despite the objection, the motions moved and passed on voice vote.
"We have a very large loss last year and one this year that's going to total, you know, close to $40,000,000," a trustee said during the discussion, noting the need for transparency and accountability, and asking for more time on some items.
Board members closed the meeting with congratulations to newly approved administrators and by adjourning after the personnel motions were carried.
