Glen Cove board honors retirees and grants tenure to dozens of staff at recognition ceremony

"We are very pleased to share with you that under the leadership of Mr. DiNapoli, Miss Tayla Plotke, and Mr. Hudson, we came up with a rigorous process" that produced two student winners, Dr. Dushner said when announcing Charlotte Decker as ex officio board member and Alexandra South as alternate.
Presenters called up individual retirees and tenured staff from food service, security, special education, library media, and instructional departments; honorees received symbolic keepsakes (red apples for retirees, green apples for newly tenured staff). The district also acknowledged GCTV’s recent awards and Mr. Barry’s lifetime achievement recognition.
The board paused regular business to continue refreshments and photos; the superintendent encouraged families to watch the livestream and to reach out with follow-up questions.
