Princeton ISD board narrowly approves contingent-fee legal agreements for youth social-media litigation

In a separate vote that followed, the board approved entering into contingent-fee legal services agreements with O'Hanlon, Demerath & Castillo, P.C. and Eiland & Bonnin, P.C. to represent the district in matters related to youth social media usage. That motion passed 5—2; trustees John Campbell and Carlos Cuellar voted with the majority, while Starla Sharpe and Bianca Washington opposed.
Earlier in the meeting the board voted unanimously to "table definitely" a separate contingent-fee contract with Abernathy, Roeder, Boyd & Hullett, P.C. for collection of delinquent receivables; that motion cited Texas Tax Code Section 6.30 and Government Code 2254.1036.
