The Granton Area School District board convened in executive session at 7:31 p.m. under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(c) to consider personnel matters and returned to open session at 9:51 p.m.; President Sheryl Young reported no action taken while in executive session.
Following return to open session, the board approved several personnel motions. "Motion to approve hiring Madelyn Nelson as Elementary Teacher," made by Mark Elmhorst and seconded by Jamie Elmhorst, was carried by voice vote. The board also approved hiring Courtney Schoessow as Middle School/High School English Teacher; that motion was made by Jamie Elmhorst and seconded by Erica Bender.
The board accepted resignations from Ashley Behselich and Melissa Zenner (child care workers) and Etazhanae Baker (2nd-grade teacher), thanking each for their service. Finally, the board approved the 2025–26 teacher and bus driver contracts as recommended by the board.
The personnel approvals were recorded after the closed session; the board’s minutes do not record salary or contract specifics in open session, and the entry notes that no action was taken while in executive session.
