Granton board re-elects Sheryl Young president, completes routine business

Erica Bender nominated Sheryl Young for president; "Motion to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot," the board recorded. The board also elected Mark Elmhorst vice president, Erica Bender treasurer and Doug Eichten clerk, with nominations and unanimous ballots recorded for each position.
The meeting proceeded to routine business. The board approved the agenda and a consent agenda that the minutes list as including the minutes of the May 14, 2025 regular board meeting and financial reports. The board then approved the check register: "Motion to approve checks 47133-47220 and wire transfers 202400144-202400184 in the amount of $342,964.25," a motion made by Erica Bender and seconded by Jamie Elmhorst. The motion carried by voice vote.
Board members also updated bank signer authority: the board revoked Dennis Kuehn from all bank accounts and authorized newly elected Treasurer Erica Bender to be added as a signer. The motions to revoke and to add signer authority were made and carried by voice vote.
The meeting included routine recognitions (Students of the Month and Staff of the Month) and several items the board tabled to June, including the district's property insurance renewal and the food service matter. The board appointed Sheryl Young as the Granton representative to the CESA 10 Annual Convention on Aug. 7, 2025, and approved the district’s student accident insurance renewal for 2025–26.
