Committee authorizes RFP for pump-station upgrade, approves engineering payments

City Administrator Adam Jasinski said the city’s 2023 grant application to establish a secondary water source from Oak Lawn is in the final stages of FEMA technical review through IEMA; Jasinski said the city must have an approved consultant ready if the grant is awarded and noted the current generator dates to the 1980s.
The committee voted unanimously to authorize issuance of a Request for Proposal for design engineering and construction inspection services for the 80th Avenue Hospital Pump Station Upgrade. The committee also approved multiple professional-services payments and contracts: $12,305.25 to Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam for a 300,000-gallon ground storage tank rendering, $4,987.88 to RJN Group for 2025 sanitary sewer rehabilitation rendering, approval of RJN Group for 2026 Sewer Rehabilitation design and construction engineering services not to exceed $82,120.00, and $3,087.48 to Strand Associates for CIPP lining renderings.
Chairman Brennan moved the professional-services approvals and Alderman Begley seconded; each motion passed on a voice vote. The approvals position the city to proceed with design work and contractor oversight if the federal grant is awarded.
