On Sept. 16 the Grundy Center City Council adopted Resolution 2024‑59 to accept work on the 2021 George Wilhelm Sports Complex project. The Finance Committee reviewed pay applications and recommended using Community Betterment funds to pay project invoices.
Council amended the resolution to accept the work and pay Boulder Contracting, LLC but not to include payment to Ritland‑Kuiper until outstanding questions about the engineering invoice are answered. Councilmember Kuester asked whether the warranty would start upon acceptance; staff member Bangasser explained the warranty will start two years from the acceptance date.
The amended resolution carried with five ayes. The minutes record the acceptance and the payment condition; they do not specify the outstanding invoice amount or engineering questions in detail.
