Council approves $20,000 BIG Grant for dental office after amending scope

The council approved Resolution 2024-64 to award a $20,000 BIG Grant to Ryan Weaver of Grundy Center Family & Implant Dentistry, 106 East G Avenue, and approved an amendment to the award scope after discussion about pre-existing work.
Smith moved and Rasmussen seconded the resolution. Council discussion with Dr. Ryan Weaver noted portions of the project had been completed before the BIG Grant application was submitted and therefore could not be included. Smith moved and Lamp seconded an amendment to "include all of the façade and building improvements and remove the concrete" from grant-eligible work; the motions carried five ayes.
The minutes record that the building and project as a whole fit the program scope after the amendment. The council did not record additional conditions beyond the amendment in the minutes.
