New trustees sworn in; board re-elects John L. Solis as president

Board President John L. Solis called the Raymondville Independent School District Board meeting to order May 13 and oversaw the administration of oaths to newly elected trustees. Judges Adolfo Cordova and Aurelio “Keter” Guerra administered the Oath of Office to Veronica “Roni” Munguia (Place 1), John L. Solis, III (Place 2), Leticia Tellez-Guzman (Place 6) and Javier Rolando Longoria (Place 7).
Following the swearing-in, the board reorganized officers. Mr. Javier Longoria nominated John L. Solis, III for board president; the motion passed 7–0. Daniel Garcia nominated Javier Longoria for vice president (approved 7–0); Javier Longoria nominated Christie Ambriz for board secretary (approved 7–0); and Daniel Garcia nominated Veronica Munguia for assistant secretary (approved 7–0). The board also authorized the Board President to co-sign district accounts with the secretary and to continue use of present signatures until new signature plates arrive (approved 7–0).
