Red Oak ISD highlights athletics, grants and awards in superintendent's report

Superintendent Brenda Sanford used her report to note recent accomplishments and upcoming events across the district. She congratulated the Red Oak Hawk football team for being bi-district champions and announced they will play the Frisco Lone Star Rangers on Nov. 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ford Center — The Star in Frisco.
Sanford also reported that the district's Education Foundation awarded 28 grants totaling more than $72,000 and will present the foundation's check at the next board meeting. The district's business office earned the Association of School Business Officials International's Meritorious Budget Award for the 2024-25 budget year and a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 2023 fiscal year. She closed with routine announcements including Thanksgiving break dates and the Toys 4 Tots event scheduled for Dec. 10 at Red Oak High School.
