Red Oak ISD receives 'Superior' F.I.R.S.T. rating, board holds public hearing

Dr. Bill Johnston, Red Oak ISD chief financial officer, presented the district's Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (F.I.R.S.T.) report for the 2022-23 school year and said the district received a Schools F.I.R.S.T. rating of "Superior," the highest available level.
Johnston reviewed mandatory disclosures including the superintendent's contract, reimbursements to the superintendent and board members, compensation for outside consulting, gifts exceeding $250 and business transactions between board members and the district. According to the minutes, no members of the public raised questions during the hearing.
The public hearing satisfied the board's obligation to present the district's financial transparency and accountability information publicly under state reporting practices. The board took no formal action on the report at the hearing.
