Staff gave a multi-part maintenance update at the July 24 meeting, listing recent projects and storm repairs citywide. Work included a playground modification at Cherry Park (a slide pole converted to a ladder), splash pads and pools brought online for the season, installation of fiber and multiple security cameras at Heritage Park in time for July 4 events, and cleanup after spring storms that downed trees across the city.
On facility damage, staff said the city worked with its insurance carrier after the hailstorms and received an assessment. "We had 43 leaks inside the fire station where water was coming in to that brand new fire station that was rebuilt," the staff member said, adding that insurance will cover repairs and that fixes are expected in a few weeks. The update also noted roof and roofing replacements across several buildings and ongoing work order volume (176 work orders submitted).
