Superintendent Castillo announced that three trustees would take the oath of office and introduced the officials who would administer each oath. Karina Talamantes, identified as Sacramento Mayor Pro Tem, administered the oath for Area 2 trustee Bridal Hardin; Scott Dausick, identified as a Natomas Unified board member for Area 4, administered the oath for Area 3 trustee Micah Grant; and California State Senator Angelique Ashby administered the oath for Area 5 trustee Sumiti Mehta.
After the swearing-in, the trustees posed for a group photo. Superintendent Castillo said the board would recess briefly for a reception in the foyer following photos.
The swearing-in and reception were ceremonial and procedural actions to seat newly elected trustees; no public comment was recorded on these items.
