At the Nov. 13 meeting the board accepted the resignation of IF aide Heather Spagnol and noted that Cheyln Welling resigned to join the Nutrition Group as a director-in-training. The minutes express the board’s thanks for Spagnol’s service. Superintendent’s remarks also recognized tenure for teachers Christopher Brown and Kristen Donnelly.
The board approved hiring Kelly Burnside as a bus aide at $14.85 per hour (motion by England, supported by Waller) and approved Todd Hodge’s attendance at the Michigan Career Education Conference, Jan. 25–27, 2026 in Grand Rapids (motion by Waller, supported by Grodi). Both motions carried 5-0. The minutes list no additional conditions or funding sources for the hire or travel approvals.
In recognition items, Shawna Lucarelli (HS mathematics) and Todd Hodge (CTE construction trades) were named Staff Members of the Month by Leski Wittman Insurance Agency. Senior Zhuoran Cai was recognized as a Commended Student in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program and awarded a BCSN Spotlight Scholar $1,000 scholarship; the broadcast feature is scheduled Dec. 14–Jan. 4.
