Board approves Trane energy assessment, policy updates, conferences and personnel hires

During the Oct. 1 meeting the board approved a Trane comprehensive energy assessment, multiple policy revisions, conference attendances, the revised Emergency Operations Plan and the hire of an aide; all motions carried 4-0.
The Mason Consolidated Schools Board of Education approved a series of motions on Oct. 1, 2025. Actions included acceptance of an agreement with Trane Technologies for a Comprehensive Energy Assessment; approval of multiple policy revisions recommended by Thrun Law Firm; approval of travel for staff to two conferences; and approval of the revised Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). Motions were moved and seconded by different board members and carried by voice or roll-call votes of 4-0.
The board also approved hiring Haleigh Edmonds as a CES IF aide at $14.85 per hour pending favorable criminal-history and background checks, and intentionally left Policy 3121 blank per a motion. The meeting minutes record donors and community events as well as the board’s acceptance of the resignation of CES aide Sharon Gaverick. All recorded motions passed unanimously with four yes votes and three board members absent.
