Board announces May tech millage vote; approves $25,373.75 iPad purchase

The superintendent told the board that in May Monroe County voters will be asked to continue the district's long-standing Technology Millage, which funds classroom and staff technology. The board approved a related purchase at the Oct. 1 meeting: 25 Apple iPads and cases for elementary students at a cost of $25,373.75, to be paid from Technology Enhancement Millage Funds.
Board members approved the iPad purchase by voice vote (motion by Waller, supported by Fowler); the motion carried 4-0. Administrators also reminded the board about an upcoming staff development session on Nov. 3 featuring Dr. Dana Schon, intended to help teachers manage stress and improve job satisfaction.
