Public Works Director John Tolan updated the Village of Freeburg Board on electric‑system items during the Aug. 18 meeting, reporting a recent outage at the SAVE site caused by a blown fuse and an Ameren outage that required village generation for several hours.
Tolan said semi‑annual IMEA (Illinois Municipal Electric Agency) testing produced capacity results that will yield about $23,000 per month for having the generators ready. He also reminded the board that the deadline to renew the village's IMEA contract is Aug. 19. A resident has expressed interest in installing an EV charging station; staff said the village will evaluate the request. Tolan further reported the bucket truck's bucket controller needs replacement.
