Student board member highlights tutoring, PBIS awards and upcoming school events

Student board member Samara Swalom updated the trustees on recent student activities: after-school tutoring and mentoring through Improve Your Tomorrow, PBIS rewards, Inderkum High's Mandarin program appearing on local media, athletic results and upcoming college and financial aid events.
"Students are also continuing to earn PBIS rewards in their classes for excellent behavior," Swalom said. She noted Discovery High students are using tutoring supports and that Natomas High seniors are planning college applications with workshops and a financial aid information night scheduled for October 1 at 6 p.m. in the NHS library.
Trustees and the superintendent thanked her for the report.
