Mannsville water operator reports failing cell meters, seeks composite meter-pit lids

Norm Jones, Mannsville's water operator, reported a series of equipment concerns at the July 8 meeting, saying the village's cell meter endpoints are "starting to die" when installed in meter pits with metal lids and that endpoints appear to be overheating. Jones said the village received a quote from Blair for composite meter-pit lids at $150 each and is awaiting additional quotes before proceeding.
Jones also identified the Elementary School and the Fire Department as two remaining locations that need cell meters after the village-wide installs; Schmidts quoted $614 per meter for those sites, which use high- and low-flow meters. The board asked staff to gather the additional quotes and return with a cost estimate.
