The district's presenter explained that the proposed aggregate levy total is about $12.26 million versus last year's extension of $11.68 million and described the calculation as preliminary, based on county assessor estimates and early distributions. "The new rate proposed is 4.99," the presenter said, stressing that the number comes from preliminary Will County data and that the final extension and effective rate will be established when the county confirms assessed values in March. The presenter added that because the aggregate increase is under 5%, the district is not required to hold a truth-in-taxation hearing.
Board members moved and seconded the resolution to approve the levy as presented; a roll-call vote carried the motion.
