Three local historical societies request county funding for next fiscal year

Michelle Heim, representing the Pennsylvania Colony Historical Society, presented the group’s annual report and told commissioners that "the organization is requesting the continued funding of $5,000 from the County for this next fiscal year." Sandra and Duaine Stalder of the Quad County Historical & Research Society made a similar request for $5,000, and Leon Wilhelm of the Richardson County Historical Society requested $10,000 in county support.
The board did not make immediate funding commitments at the meeting. Commissioners said each organization’s request would be considered during budget review and that the societies would be notified later of any decisions.
