Sheriff reports 16 inmates, inspection set for Sept. 10; board to review patrol unit purchase

Sheriff Hardesty updated the Richardson County Board of Commissioners on operations at the Law Enforcement Center, saying "There are 16 inmates currently being held in the jail." He told commissioners that the Jail Standards will conduct the annual jail inspection on September 10 and that two deputies are scheduled to complete their training at the Law Enforcement Academy on August 20.
Hardesty also described routine maintenance arrangements — selected inmates perform cleaning duties and a current staff member assists with maintenance during the work week — and said the sheriff’s office has asked the board to consider purchasing a patrol unit. The board agreed to review the patrol-unit request later when members have had a chance to examine the proposed budget.
