Johns Creek manager highlights construction progress as Girl Scout honored for literacy work

The Johns Creek City Council on June 1 heard its monthly report from City Manager Greer, who said the city’s five 2026 strategic priorities are arts and culture, public safety, economic development, recreation and parks, and transportation and connectivity. "Construction's humming in Johns Creek," Greer said, summarizing progress on Abbotts Bridge, the Barnwell and bridge projects, and work at Johns Creek Parkway.

Greer highlighted that local projects are largely on schedule and within budget, and noted the city will continue monitoring major revenue sources such as local option sales tax. "We will continue to monitor all of our revenue sources," Greer said, pointing councilmembers to more detail in the manager’s packet.

The council paused early in the meeting to recognize a local Girl Scout. Siti Mohan introduced herself and described her Gold Award project, "Literary Lullabies," which organizers said addressed early‑childhood literacy by holding workshops, book collections and distributions. Mohan told the council her team distributed 828 books and reached approximately 3,000 people through outreach in Johns Creek and elsewhere.

Mayor [unnamed] and councilmembers presented Mohan with a citation thanking her for leadership and community service. The council also reviewed routine agenda business and directed residents to johnscreekga.gov for upcoming city events including summer concerts and the July 3 Boardwalk Independence Day celebration.
