The council approved Ordinance 2026-12 on first reading to amend Hobart Municipal Code §154.566(B) to set the Historic Preservation Commission’s membership at five and to clarify quorum requirements.
Mayor Huddlestun said the ordinance sets the number of board members; the Plan Commission had forwarded a favorable recommendation with no conditions. Council members confirmed that a five-member board would require three members for a quorum. The motion to approve first reading passed unanimously (motion by Mr. Kara; second Mr. Waldrop; vote 7-0).
The change clarifies board composition and quorum expectations and now proceeds through the remaining steps for ordinance adoption.
