Council members voted 6‑0 on the first reading of Ordinance 2026‑21 to change an established PUD to a new PUD for the Sapper's Garden subdivision, a roughly 15‑acre single‑family development southeast of 10th St. and Lake Park Avenue.
Mr. Kara explained that engineering showed the original entrance off SR51 was not viable and that the developer reworked layouts around wetlands; the revised plan adds five lots (bringing the total to 45) and modifies drainage and access. Mr. Brezik said the Plan Commission discussed density concerns; Mayor Huddlestun commended the Plan Commission and developer for diligence in reaching the revised plan. The ordinance passed its first reading by roll call (6‑0).
