The Hobart Common Council on June 17 approved Resolution 2026-12 to designate an Economic Revitalization Area for Allied Tube & Conduit Corp. (Atkore) at 2400 E. 69th Ave., a step officials said will support an approximately $11 million expansion.
Director of Development Marcos Rodriquez said the designation is intended to safeguard 73 jobs and facilitate the creation of roughly 61 additional jobs at the facility. Paul Thurston of Becknell Industrial, listed as the contractor for the project, described the project as an $11M expansion to reconfigure warehousing and add a third manufacturing line. An Atkore facility lead identified only by his first name, Adam, said equipment from the company's Phoenix, Arizona plant had been relocated to Hobart and contributed to increased production that prompted the expansion.
The council approved the resolution (motion by Mr. Claussen; second Mr. Brezik; vote 7-0) and set a public hearing for July 15, 2026. Officials said Atkore has participated in community activities and expects to continue local engagement as the plant expands.
