Ropes ISD board swears in two trustees and reappoints Donald Rhoads as president

At its May 12 meeting the Ropes ISD Board of Trustees took oaths for newly elected trustees, reorganized board officers and recorded abstentions by nominees in officer votes. The superintendent administered the oath.
Board President Donald Rhoads called the Ropes Independent School District Board of Trustees to order on May 12, 2025, and Superintendent Dade Cosby administered the Oath of Office to newly elected trustees Chad Brooks and Tysen Mortensen.
The board then reorganized leadership. Chad Partington nominated Donald Rhoads for board president; the motion carried with a 6-0 recorded vote and an abstention by Rhoads. Blake Thrash nominated Keila Ketchersid for vice president; that motion passed 6-0 with Ketchersid recorded as abstaining. Donnie Halpain nominated Chad Partington as secretary; the motion passed 6-0 with Partington recorded as abstaining. The minutes show these were procedural organization votes taken immediately after the oath of office.
