Rockdale ISD board renews auditors, approves consent agenda and March financials

The Rockdale Independent School District Board of Trustees on April 21 approved its consent agenda, including minutes from March 17 and March 31 and the district’s March 2025 financial report.
Motion by Amy Casas, seconded by Jason Barcak, carried to approve the minutes; the same motion pattern was used across consent items. The board also voted to renew Singleton, Clark & Company PC as the district’s financial auditors for the 2024–25 fiscal year with an option for one additional year through 2025–26 after a motion by Jason Barcak and second by Karen Laughlin; the motion carried 5–0.
Business Manager Rebecca King pointed to several large March expenditures the board reviewed as part of the financial report, including the Burleson Milam Special Services monthly pro rata allocation, Milam Appraisal District appraisal fees for 2024–25, and purchases from Dynamic Fitness for weight room equipment. After discussion, a motion by Amy Casas, seconded by Jason Barcak, approved the March financial report (motion carried 5–0).
The board approved a budget-neutral transfer to cover over-budget accounts in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) budget. Jason Barcak moved the budget amendment, seconded by Amy Casas; the motion carried 5–0. The board also approved the Quarterly Investment Report for Jan. 1–Mar. 31, 2025 on a motion by Janice Keen, seconded by Amy Casas.
