The Public Safety and Welfare Committee on Monday considered a sign-encroachment application for a business at 57 26th Avenue and approved the related encroachment agreement.
At a public hearing, James Warner identified himself as the store representative for Millieville Peak and said he was present to answer questions. "My name is James Warner. The address of the store is 57 26th Ave," he said. Staff told the committee that Items 1 and 2 were related — the application for the sign encroachment and the encroachment agreement with the property owners — and recommended approval of both items.
Committee members read the encroachment agreement described as being between Lucy Enterprises LLC and Billy Bo Peek LLC and covering sign placement in the public right-of-way. After a motion and second to approve both items together, the committee voted in favor; the chair recorded an aye. The committee did not request additional conditions or public testimony beyond the representative’s offer to answer questions.
The agreement as read in the meeting references private parties and a city encroachment procedure; the next administrative steps will be those standard for city encroachment agreements. The transcript referred to the municipality as "Coast, Wisconsin" when reading the agreement; the meeting took place in Kenosha and references to the city name have been normalized to Kenosha in this report.
