"Budgeted amount was $1,500,000. As you see, it came out well below that," the director said, explaining the project was included in the annual budget and that the contractor passed prequalification. The director told commissioners the replacement addresses an aging, failing piece of infrastructure that recently contributed to a failure during a major rain event; staff recommended the low bidder. Commissioner Bill Seal moved to approve and Commissioner Penny Keeling seconded the motion; the board voted to award the contract.
Staff said a preconstruction meeting will set the construction timeline and the director noted a temporary repair is in place following the recent rain-related failure. The meeting record does not include a start or completion date; staff committed to provide an update after the preconstruction meeting.
