Freeburg approves Knights of Columbus collection; resident seeks stop sign on North Edison

Village Administrator Matt Trout presented a yearly request from the Knights of Columbus to hold a collection on Sept. 20, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at State St. and Apple St.; Trustee Dana Miller moved to approve the request and trustees voted unanimously to carry it.
In public participation, resident Vic Rose requested a stop sign at North Edison and Meadow Lake/Meadow Ridge; the board asked Police Chief Mike Schutzenhofer to inspect the location and bring a recommendation to the next Streets Committee meeting. No traffic-control action was taken at the Sept. 2 board meeting.
The board also listed upcoming meetings and committee schedules, including combined Planning & Zoning on Sept. 9 and the next board meeting Sept. 15.
