Residents urge trustees to delay subdivision approval over Lannon–Mill safety concerns

During the public hearing on the Reserve at Landon Road, several residents who live along Lannon Road and Mill Road described repeated crashes, blind sight lines and steep grades that make the intersection hazardous, especially in winter. Scott O'Dwyer, who said he has lived in the neighborhood 31 years, said traffic at peak hours already makes it difficult to exit his subdivision and argued the developer and planning bodies were understating impacts.

"The traffic is going to increase a lot," O'Dwyer said, adding that heavy construction trucks already come down the hill and that constructing bypass lanes on neighboring property would be unfair. Jeff Goodlad, a longtime local real estate professional, said the corner has experienced at least 14 significant accidents in the last five years and urged the board to insist the developer secure county support for any road widening before approving the plan. Bruce Amel and Adam Keller echoed the safety concerns; Keller said he responds to many on-scene emergencies near the intersection and recounted a serious crash that entered his property. Commenters asked the board to read the traffic impact analysis that was provided on Friday and to work with county engineers on any needed improvements before a final vote.
