The Village of Kincaid board accepted a $30,000 donation from the South Fork Youth Association to replace the ballfield backstop and fence and approved proceeding with Aaron Peel Fencing.
Mike Harris, representing the South Fork Youth Association, said the group "would like to donate the money toward putting up a new fence" and presented a bid from Peel Fencing for $30,000. Trustee Lawrence moved that the association donate the funds and that Aaron Peel Fencing perform the work; Trustee Nelson seconded and the motion passed with all ayes. Harris said the association would provide the paperwork and "we will have a contract for it tomorrow." The village staff will review the contractor documentation once submitted.
The planned work includes removal of the existing backstop, installation of a black vinyl backstop and surrounding fencing, and related site work. Because the village owns the property, board approval was required before the association could proceed.
