Glenfield water loan and rate changes outlined; public hearing set for December

Martinsburg officials told residents Nov. 19 that the Glenfield water system will incur an annual loan payment of $91,500. Supervisor Terrence Thisse and Town Clerk Deanna Doviak said that amount translates to roughly $960 per year per Glenfield water user under current estimates.
The board also reported that the new Glenfield well is up and running and that the reverse-osmosis system is scheduled for setup on Dec. 8; sewer pump-station equipment is expected to arrive soon. A public hearing for all water and sewer users to discuss proposed increases in rates will be held in December; the clerk will notify users when details and exact rate figures are available.
The town will send representatives (Supervisor Thisse and Clerk Doviak) to a Dec. 12 Zoom meeting about Glenfield water operations and financing. Officials said they hope increased demand when the school comes online will help the revenue picture but did not provide firm timelines or a finalized rate schedule.
