Trustee outlines snow-parking ordinance, routes and signs; board to consider purchase

Trustee Lawrence told the committee the village already has an ordinance that would ban parking on certain streets after 18 hours following three inches of snowfall and presented a signage plan to support enforcement.
"We do already have an ordinance put in place; it would be unlawful to park a vehicle on the following streets after eighteen hours of snowfall of three inches," Lawrence said while outlining the blocks that would be affected. He presented a cost estimate of $492.46 for 11 metal signs and said six existing poles could be reused.
Lawrence listed proposed enforcement routes by block (100 block of Richardson both sides; 500 block of Prairie one side across from the school; 200 block of Elm both sides; 100 and 200 blocks of Commonwealth both sides; 500 block of Richardson both sides) and noted some streets present plowing difficulties. Trustees asked to add the item to the next agenda for further consideration and potential approval of the sign purchase.
