Beecher Education Foundation asks board to promote Feb. 28 fundraiser

Wendy Hoekstra, chair of the Beecher Education Foundation, used the public-comment slot at the Jan. 14 Beecher CUSD 200U board meeting to ask the board and community to support the foundation’s annual fundraiser on Feb. 28. “Our annual fundraiser is coming up on February 28 and will be held at CD and B in Frankfurt,” Hoekstra said, and she encouraged residents to check the district’s Facebook page for ticket and donation details.
Hoekstra described recent foundation grants to the district, including purchases of ACT preparation software, new baseball and softball equipment, and an elementary math learning program. She said the foundation is run by local volunteers and asked for board and parent support to help make the event successful. The board did not take action on the request at the meeting; Hoekstra’s comments were heard during the public-comment portion of the agenda.
