Superintendent Michele Pillari described the autism-related change as a restructure rather than adding a standalone new room, explaining the district’s intent to better align services with student needs. The education item (225-305) passed by roll call (7 YES). The board also discussed out-of-district ESY placements and related services during the finance section of the agenda.
The changes will require staffing adjustments and placement finalizations; district officials indicated continuing work on special-education budgets and Extended School Year (ESY) planning during the coming weeks.
